Day out (not a healthy day)
Today was not at all healthy, but I was out with friends and decided to just enjoy it.
Estimated total: about 2000kcal
What I ate:
Special K Cinnamon pecan with almond milk
3/4 of a reuben sandwich
3 large onion rings
large red velvet cupcake
vegetarian (beans, rice, cheese, veggies) burrito
a small handful of tortilla chips, plain

What I ate: Wednesday and Thursday
Wednesday (still traveling)
Froot Loops (100 cal pack)
Plain Greek yogurt
Plain biscuit
Chik-fil-a grilled chicken sandwich
Golden delicious apple
Baked potato, plain (with salt and pepper)
1/2 of a 6oz sirloin steak
Estimated total: 1500
Thursday (1st day home, almost no groceries!)
2 slices 12 grain toast with 1oz brie
Dried apricots, about 10 pieces

Post-holiday recovery
Here is what I ate today, on my first day after the holiday bingefest.
Breakfast: Special K Cinnamon pecan with almond milk
Lunch: Panera black bean soup, banana
Dinner: A house salad with vinegar, a large grilled chicken breast with barbecue sauce and a baked potato with no butter or sour cream (I flavored it with salt, pepper, and some of the barbecue)
Snacks: One dark chocolate bar...

in case you’re wondering about my hiatus, I was staying with relatives in the country and had no internet. I did really well during that time, staying at or below my calorie goal every day.
I went significantly over my normal calorie goals Christmas eve, Christmas day, and yesterday, but the binge period is over now and I was back on track today. I actually made myself sick eating so much...

Day 16 - To Eat or Not to Eat?
Well, obviously one must eat to live. Furthermore, I believe in eating enough, i.e. no starvation diets or extreme restriction. Starving yourself does not lead to long-term weight loss because you end up gaining it back, and that’s not what I want.
Also, when I get too hungry, I am very irritable, so for me, eating small portions often is the best way to go.

I like a lot of unhealthy foods, but my main weaknesses are:
pizza
comfort foods associated with my southern coastal area, including biscuits, fried seafood, hush puppies, etc
baked sweets (including homemade cookies, packaged tea biscuits, brownies, cake with cream cheese icing, pie a la mode, muffins)
high cal pasta dishes like macaroni and cheese casserole or alfredo or meat sauce
