Savoring Health

I am a 21-year-old college student. In spring of 2011 I found myself at the largest I have ever been: 5'3" and 165 lbs. At that moment I decided to start making changes.

TO DO: decrease my portions, eat better quality food, stay active

NEVER: deprive myself of enjoying life, lose weight in an unhealthy way

Day XIV: Do you ever allow yourself a “rest day” from exercise or a “cheat day” from your diet?

Yeah, I occasionally allow a cheat day, or more often a cheat meal. I try to allow a cheat meal once a week or so, and I’ll allow a whole cheat day on special occasions like holidays. The idea is to make it about eating whatever I want, not as much as I can. Cheating means I can order the sweet and sour chicken, not that I can eat so much Chinese that I’m ready to burst. It means that I can have pizza or a high calorie dessert, not that I can binge all night on junk food with friends.
