I am a 21-year-old college student. In spring of 2011 I found myself at the largest I have ever been: 5'3" and 165 lbs. At that moment I decided to start making changes.

TO DO: decrease my portions, eat better quality food, stay active

Day XX!: Do you listen to music when you work out?

Often. I like to listen to music when I work out. Sometimes, I listen to an upbeat playlist with everything from Kesha to Vampire Weekend to Avril Lavigne to Madonna. Other times, I’m more inspired by moving classical music like Tchaikovsky.

Unfortunately, my iPod is currently at the house of a certain relative with whom I am not currently on speaking terms, so lately it’s been whatever is on the radio, or watching TV, or sometimes just using the time for some deep thought. Interestingly, one can have some great philosophical discussions with oneself while exercising.
